Plot

Wachigaiya Itosato (Aya Ueto) is a giesha in the fabled district of Shimabara, Kyoto. She falls in love with Hijikata Toshizo (Hideaki Ito), who also seems to love Wachigaiya Itosato . One day, Serizawa Kamo (Shido Nakamura) asks Hijikata to give up Wachigaiya. Hijikata then decides to use Wachigaiya for his plan to assassinate Serizawa.

Notes

Based on Jiro Asada's novel "Wachigaiya Itosato" which was first published in the Japanese monthly "Oru yomimono" (August 2002 - February 2004).

OMFG! If they could make this, they could totally make a drama live action of the manga "Kaze Hikaru" with Aya Ueto as Tominaga Sei!!!
