This film depicts a modern Japanese family's struggle to an extreme degree. The story line could be seemed bizarre and grotesque but the director induces the audience to examine themselves who are accustomed to the sensational scenes.

There is a family on the verge of dying out. As soon as the father, a famous newscaster, was fired from the broadcasting station, he began taking pictures of anything sensational while hoping to return to the company. He does not aid his son when he is being shunned by his classmates, while photographing the incident. He considers newsworthy his daughter dating an older man and her having sex with a dead body. His son beats up his mom as compensation for being shunned at school. Mom doesn't resist but soon turns to drugs and becomes a drug addict. She makes money for drugs by prostituting herself. This vicious circle goes on and on. One day an unidentified man comes in this family and changes the cycle.
