- "Suspect X" is based on a novel series by Keigo Higashino, who won the prestigious Naoki Prize last year.
- "Suspect X" is a spin-off of the television series "Galileo" which aired in 2007 on Fuji TV.
- On the day of "Suspect X"'s theatrical release, Fuji TV also aired a television special "Galileo: Episode Zero".
