Plot
"Take Off" is centered around the joy and sorrow of the first Korean national ski jump team. In 1997, the county of Muju in South Korea bids to host the 2002 Winter Olympics. The IOC judges responsible for picking the host city wonders how Korea could host the Winter Olympics without having a national ski jump team. Because of this, a Korean ski jumping team is quickly formed.

- First time that father & son, Kim Yong-geon & Ha Jung-Woo, appears together in a feature film.
- "Take Off" opened #2 at the South Korean box office selling 594,094 tickets on 754 screens (22.1% of all ticket sales) during its opening July 31st - August 2nd weekend.
- During its third weekend of release "Take Off" moved into the #1 position selling more tickets than previously #1 film "Haeundae." "Take Off" sold 913,447 tickets on 677 screens, accounting for 29% of all tickets sold during the August 14-16, 2009 weekend.
- An extended version / director's cut of "Take Off" was released in South Korea on September 10, 2009. The new version includes newly added scenes as well as re-edited scenes.[1] The extended version will play only in digital screening rooms - opening in 71 theaters and taking in 64,621 viewers over its first four day of release (ranking #7 for its opening weekend).
- During the Sept. 11-13 weekend "Take Off" moved past "May 18" to become the 10th most watched film ever in South Korea - having a cumulative total of 7,371,459 viewers.
- Through its theatrical run in South Korea "Take Off" became #6 in Korea's all time box office sales. The film sold a total of 8,442,226 tickets (including sales of the director's cut version of "Take Off").
