Bio
Born in Tokyo in October 22, 1982. Rio Matsumoto was discovered in 1994, and made the debut on TV drama “Owaranai Natsu” (NTV) and signed TV commercial contracts with more than 10 companies in the following year. Especially, she was and still is the only model, who was chosen to pose for “Victor Koshien Poster” as an active junior high school student. In 1997, she was highly regarded for acting Ayumi Himekawa in “Garasu No Kamen” (TV Asahi), which got great ratings. Matsumoto announced her retirement from entertainment business to concentrate on studying fully in 1999.
After 3 years of retirement, she came back to the limelight with TV drama “Goldenbowl” (NTV). She widened her appeal in 2004, and tried a leading role in theatrical musical “Beat Pops Fighting Girls” with popular music group Exile. She also released “Serafita No Komoriuta” from the musical numbers.
In the same year, Matsumoto also became a main cover girl for a fashion magazine “Ray” (published by Shufunotomo Co., Ltd.) and receive support from young generations.
She spreads her talent as a designer as well, and one of her designed item with Hello Kitty of Sanrio sold out at once. She also designed and produced wedding dresses under the name of “Michael Merner Collection by Rio Matsumoto”.

Ohwow, I was watching episode 1 of Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo season 2 and was appalled by the weird yet very pretty girl. I googled her to see how she looks now or if I've ever watched another drama with her in it and here I am! Haha I've seen her in Stand Up! :D Her eyes are just, woah, people would pay bick bucks for those. Natural is the way to go!
