Born in 1960. Graduate of the Political Science and Economics Faculty of Meiji University. After founding the production company "Heaven" with TOMIOKA Tadafumi and HIROKI Ryuichi, he established his own production company "Gold View" in 1996. After starting with games and straight-to-video films, he wrote, produced, and directed the feature drama "SCOUT♀MAN" in 2000 with his own company, which was screened to critical acclaim at the Venice Film Festival and elsewhere. In 2002, he received the Best New Director award from the Directors Guild of Japan. Tokyo Noir is recent work, writing and directing Girl's Life and writing and co-directed with Naoto Kumazawa Night Lovers from Tokyo Noir.
