Plot
Seventeen-year-old piano protégé and winner of a Hong Kong Schools Music Festival prize, KJ is the subject of Cheung’s documentary. Touching on subjects as varied as the meaning of life, God, success and the artistic process, Cheung’s conversations with Huang reveal a young man at a crossroads, unsure as to which life path to take and what he wants. In examining Huang’s innermost thoughts, KJ appears to be about a musical genius on the surface, but in reality speaks to choices and struggles that are universal.
