Born in 1963, Hur Jin-ho graduated from the Korean Academy of Film Arts where he completed the acclaimed short film, For Kochul, which was invited to the Vancouver International Film Festival. He began his film career working as an assistant director for Park Kwang-Su¡¯s To the Starry Island and A Single Spark. He also co-wrote A Single Spark and Killimanjaro. His debut feature, Christmas in August was invited to the Critic's Week at Cannes, earning international critical recognition. His second feature One Fine Spring Day also earned recognition for its lyrical images.
