Hiroshi Kawai, a former employee of Bandai Visual, leaves that company to start a toy wholesale business named Tosho Ltd in June, 1969. The company would change its name to Tosho Corporation in 1972 and then renamed as Happinet Coporation (after aquiring Dairin Corporation and Seiko Corporation) in 1991. In December 1994, Bandai Co. Ltd increased its holding making Happinet a Bandai affiliate.
Currenntly Happinet is involved in the toy wholesaling industry, video software distribution business, distributor of video game hardware and software, and amusement business (selling toy vending machines and the products they contain)
