- The first film from director Kazuo Hara is about the dirty backside of Japan's economic rise in the 1970s.
- Main character Chika is played by four different actresses within a ten year period.
- Actress Kumija Kim died in 2004, but "Goodbye CP" was not released until 2005. The movie took several years to complete.
