In the not-too distant future, dragon-like plants burst forth from their garden on the Moon and reclaimed the Earth as their own; water supplies are scarce, but humanity has learnt to adapt to their harsh new environment in harmony with the spirits of the forest.
Agito is a relatively carefree teenager who races his friend to a swimming spot; in hiding from the authorities who forbid them from going there, he ends up accidentally freeing a mysterious girl named Toola from cryogenic sleep. Agito’s father was one of those “chosen by the forest”; although he’s now turning into some kind of tree-being, those such selected have silver hair and enormous strength, and one such man, Shunack (I think? I never really caught his name!), leads the Laguna Empire who are bent on restoring the world to its former technological glory. Toola’s father, Professor Sakuru, was head of the project to regenerate the Earth, known as Project Isdock, and thus Toola decides to go with them; Agito heads off into the forest to gain the power of the silver-haired people in order to save her.
