Geneon Entertainment main business areas are:(1) Planning, production, and distribution of movies, animation, music, and other works, and acquisition of copyright, (2) Production, manufacturing, and distribution of video software, music software, and other duplication.
The company was first established in March 1981 as Laser Disc Corporation (a producer of Laser Disc software) and then changed name to Pioneer LDC, Inc. (a subsidary of Pioneer Entertainment) in 1989. In October of 2003 the company then became known as Geneon Entertainment, after its acquistion by Dentsu.
