Bio
Based in Tokyo and with an office in Los Angeles, Gaga was one of the first 'modern' Japanese distribution companies, bursting onto the international market in the late 1980s with a plane-load of acquisitions executives. The company acquired filmed entertainment of all kinds, which it then distributed across all media and platforms, having its own distribution company in each. Gaga also had a sales arm handling mainly although not exclusively Japanese titles. Hit hard by the economic recession, however, Gaga's profile was much lower on the international scene at the turn of the millennium. Then, with a fresh infusion of capital from the Usen Group in 2004, it briefly became a major player again, buying at the top of the market.
