For the global disaster ‘Second Impact’, half the human population of Earth was killed. One day, when a 14 year-old boy, Shinji Ikari, came to the fortress city Tokyo-3 to visit his father, he saw a giant creature. The unknown creature was called ‘Angel’, and it started attacking the city and the army. Shinji was involved in the battle, and was saved by a woman, Misato Katsuragi. She took him to a special governmental agency, ‘Nerv’, and there he met his father as the commander of Nerv…
Shinji’s father, Gendou Ikari, forced his son to fight against Angels, showing him an enormous artificial humanoid called ‘Evangelion’. At first, Shinji refused to be the pilot of ‘Evangelion’. However, seeing the other pilot girl, Rei Ayanami, who has a strong will to fight against the enemies, Shinji gradually made his mind.
How does the boy fight for the world’s future? What is ‘Human Instrumentality Project’, a key word behind the ‘Second Impact’? Gendou, who knows the secret, just watches his son struggle…
