- The movie "Threads Of Destiny " (Akai Ito), produced by Shochiku, was released on December 20, 2008 in Japan, while Fuji TV aired the television version, Akai Ito on December 6th, 2008.

Does anyone know how old Mei and her friends are, because they all look about 18, and all the people at their school are in their mid to late teens, but Mei's sister says she can't walk with them anymore because she's going to high school. Are they in middle school then!?
